- Smoke Alarms / Fire Alarms
Mains powered interlinked smoke alarms are the most reliable method of giving early warning within a domestic property to any fire, and it is a requirement for them to be installed in all new homes. These come with a battery back up should the power cut out.
Interlinked means the smoke alarms in the property will all activate, should one of the alarms go off. This can be achieved through hard wiring the units, or by using Radio Frequency bases should you not wish to wire cables throughout the home, causing minimal disruption.
Mains wired smoke alarms are also required should you be undertaking certain alterations or extension work. An alarm should be mounted in the circulation space at every floor level for; loft conversions, new habitable rooms (kitchen, bedrooms, living, dining rooms) that may be above ground floor level, basement conversions and ground floor rooms that don’t have their own exit door.
